Distorsion using PixelBender

October 15th, 2009

After reading Tinic Uro and Kevin Goldsmith’s posts, I decided to try PixelBender for audio processing.
Mixing several sounds is nice, but it would be cool to process real time effects. Here is a first try. A very very simple distorion, still not a wave shaper (wich should sound better).

Flash Player 10.1, audio input and software looper.

October 15th, 2009

I’ve just seen this announcement : Introducing Adobe Flash Player 10.1

There are several interesting features, but the one I’m the most interested in is the microphone access API. I often perform music live, and use loopers such as loopstation or jam-station. The problem is that I only have a mono signal in such pedals. I had the idea to build my own looper using AIR, but it was not possible to get the incoming sound.
But now, I should be able to build my own looper, in stereo, with the features I want. (fade out, overdubs, pitch shifting, EQs, several loops in memory with live switching) I just have now to think about the interface to control such an application. I’m a guitar player, so , I have to control it with my foots. I have to see if any MIDI class for AIR can be found, or done.

If I make this looper in AIR, I’ll propably give it for free. That won’t be a big software, but software loopers are, most of the time, expensive, and not really user friendly, or need to run into an audio sequencer to work. Stereo hardware loopers are very expensive.

I can’t wait Flash CS5 now, beetween Iphone, WinMobile, and this audio feature, lot of nice think to do.

Testing Native Instruments Guitar Rig (3)

October 8th, 2009

I got it few months ago, but hadn’t time yet to really work on it.

I’m pretty pleased with the sound it produces.
This tune is made with only one amp model, Fender Twin, and live with the onboard looper.

Flash basic synthesis

December 13th, 2008

Let’s generate sounds now.
This is a simple synthesis module.Basic arpegiator, Two voices. the first one generates a sine and a square signal, the second one, a sine plus harmonics and a random noise signal.
Moving the mouse along the x axis set the mix between both oscillators of both channels, along the y axis, changes the release envelope length.

Andy Hulstkamp made a light and lovely module to create music. I found it nice and wanted to share it

Flash 10 audio, sound player *

December 6th, 2008

Ok.

I was exited about this new feature of Flash Player 10. Actually, I’ve been waiting for this for years.
This is my first attempt. That’s not so efficient than André Michelle’s work or other things you could find at Adobe, MAKE SOME NOISE. But here it is.

Once again, nothing realy new.
I just tried to improve the fireflies module to make it react with sound.

You can choose from one of my tunes, and change the color themes (4)

Flash : Fireflies

A simple ActionScript 3 experiment.
Nothing really new, lot of people already made more impressive, but I like it.
