Flash 10 audio, sound player *

Ok.

I was exited about this new feature of Flash Player 10. Actually, I’ve been waiting for this for years.
This is my first attempt. That’s not so efficient than André Michelle’s work or other things you could find at Adobe, MAKE SOME NOISE. But here it is.

(Either JavaScript is not active or you are using an old version of Adobe Flash Player. Please install the newest Flash Player.)

How to use it. First choose a mp3 files. Short loops, of full songs.
Once the mp3 is loaded, it starts playing.

About the pots, using the alt Key will allow you to set fine values.

Wave player :

  • Change the speed using the vari pitch pot. (from -3 to 3, you can play reverse)
  • If you play the sample at a low speed, activa the antialias function. It dynamicaly recalculate samples value.
  • Set the source pan (useful to play the delay block).

Stereo enhancer :

  • Enable with the main switch
  • Set the effect depth (0 is neutral, -1 is mono)

Distorsion :

  • Simple distorsion module, works best on sample that have only one or two instruments sound

Stereo Digital Delay :

  • PingPong mode feeds the left input with right source signal, and right input with the left source signal. Not a true pingpong mode actually. Change the wvae player pan to hear the effect.
  • Time : delay time (unit sample)
  • Feed : Signal sent to the delay
  • Fall : how fast the recorded signal fades. 0 : falls at the first pass, 1 : never fall. (beware of saturation)

Amp section :

  • Master : master volume.
  • Filters : Low, medium, hi. For each channel, left and right. This is a 4 poles filter. You can set the frequencies using the small pots. Link or unlink the pots with the link switch.

I have many improvements to bring. The delay has a “click” sound, needs a hi cutoff. The distorsion could be better …. so many things to explore.

* : UPDATE, I’ve uploaded another version, with a smoother distorsion, level LEDs for each band of the EQs, and with a hi cut filter for the delay.
